Fall Newsletter

 

 

 

Fall is approaching and it is about time for our annual membership meeting.  This meeting will be held in Billings , Saturday, October 23rd at the Golden Corral Restaurant on 24^th St , starting at 11:30 am . 

 

Please plan on coming to this meeting.  We will be discussing the calendar for next year’s events, and committees for those events.  If you cannot make the meeting, please email me at dogsetc@fiberpipe.net, Leigh at woofydog@msn.com, or Elaine at Erracer@aol.com  to let us know what events you would like the club to sponsor AND how much work you can do at those events.  We also need to discuss some fund raisers. 

 

This year we had a busy schedule.  By the end of the year we will have sponsored 3 stock dog clinics, a tracking seminar and an obedience/agility/tracking seminar.  We also co-sanctioned 3 agility events, two with the Casper NADAC  Agility Club and one with  the Butte NADAC agility club.  Our club also held a tracking trial in Butte and will be holding another tracking trial and seminar in October in Red Lodge. (  For more information, you can contact Elaine at Erracer@aol.com.)  Jackie Fritz, Sue Johnson and Lisa Pope did a great job with the conformation/obedience show in Rock Springs in August.   Elaine Osmun hosted our obedience trial (4 shows in two days) in Red Lodge.  These events were possible because there were people willing to help work them.  We also had good support from many of our members through donations for awards and raffle prizes.  Thanks to all who helped in one way or another.

 

Nominations are being accepted from the membership for the following positions:  President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary, Affiliate Rep, and 2 Directors.  The nominating committee chose the following slate of candidates for the next election:

President – Carol McQuade, VP – Pam Kaye, Treasurer – Leigh Dvarihkis, Secretary/Affiliate Rep – Jody Fay, Directors – Lisa Pope and Liz Feller.  If you would like to nominate anyone for these positions, please send the nomination to me at 934 Burton St. , Sheridan , WY , along with a letter of acceptance and resume from the person being nominated.    These nominations must be received at my address by October 15, 2004 . 

 

Our website has a copy of the by-laws for those of you who do not have a copy.  Also, if you have brags or pictures of your “stars” you can contact Jaime at cybermoose@earthlink.net – Jaime is our awesome web mistress.  Jackie Fritz has set up an email discussion list on Yahoo for the WWWASC – if you cannot figure out how to get on the list, please contact Jackie for help.   

 

Again, please plan on attending our annual membership meeting.  If you cannot come, then please contact one of us with the information about events you would like to see the club put on and how much support you can offer for that event.  And anyone having good fundraising ideas, please let us know!
